Music Tuesdays: Work More Still Poor

Waddup docs!

I just found out that my new job will have me working ungodly hours for the next few months, and I’m not even making the big bucks yet.

I guess I should be thankful that I’m not like this guy….

These hard times remind me of this Kanye West single….

Okay, that’s song is a little depressing. I guess maybe I should lighten the mood. Whenever I’m feeling down about the office, I’ll just remember this…

I better WORK! πŸ˜‰

Music Tuesdays: It’s A Phenomenon

Everyone is whippin they hairs!

Willow Smith

Yesterday, Willow Smith’s music video for “Whip My Hair” was FINALLY released on Vevo. And, I must say. I 100% approve. The video has a very youthful feel, and Willow is surrounded by kids just like herself. Not to mention, Willow shows that she’s got a lot of attitude, which everyone knows is the necessary key to super stardom. But honestly, it’s not like Willow Smith needs to be schooled on how to become a superstar. Look at her parents and brother. Even Trey, the eldest Smith son, is a star, and he’s not even in the public eye. Anyways, I think Willow Smith and her song are refreshing and fun.

If you’re late and haven’t seen the video, click here —> Whip My Hair

I see you Jaden with all that hair! lol

Side note: I wasn’t going to bring up this little argument. With that said, it saddens me that Ciara’s music video for “Gimmie Dat” hasn’t mustered up that many YouTube views, considering that it came out last week. After only one day, Willow Smith’s already has half the views of Ciara’s. Not to mention, Rihanna’s “Only Girl In The World” has over 2 million, and premiered after “Gimmie Dat.”

Now, I know that Rihanna appeals more to the masses than Ciara, but Ciara works her butt off in “Gimmie Dat.” Let us just hope that the songbird’s album doesn’t flop again…

**Cop Ciara’s album, Basic Instinct, on November 29th. πŸ˜‰

Bruno Mars

As for the newer artists, it looks like Bruno Mars’ Doo-wops and Hooligans debuted at #3 on Billboard. Although 3 is good, I guess I was expecting the young R&B/Pop singer to do a bit better. Needless to say, it was country singer Toby Keith’s album, Bullets in the Gun, that debuted at numero uno. Even though I like country music, I kind of forget about that little stretch of land in between the west and east coasts that loves them some country music. lol

Anyways, here’s the third released single off of Mars’ album.

Bruno Mars – “The Lazy Song”

It’s cute. I don’t know if it’s a hit, but it’s cute. We’ll see. πŸ™‚

And, to finish off today’s post, I wanted to highlight my favorite latest X Factor performances.

First up is Rebecca Ferguson’s “Feeling Good.”

I love that Rebecca is a diva, but she better watch out because there are several divas on the show this season, including Tracy Cohen. Here’s Tracy singing “Purple Rain.”

Although I love the divas this season, I must admit that I have a soft spot for Matt Curdle. Matt’s a late twenty- something-year-old, who classified himself as a “bum” before beginning the show. However, Matt is absolutely adorable, and he has a very unique sound to his voice. He recently performed Bruno Mars’ “Just The Way You Are,” and even though it’s not my fave performance from him, I still heart him. πŸ™‚

Check it out now!

The audience LOVED it. lol

Anyways, that’s enough X Factor. I really need X Factor to come to America. I know that Simon is working on it right now, but it’s taking forever! lol I’m tired of watching all of the good talent in the UK.

Music Tuesdays: Ciara’s New Video For “Gimmie Dat”

I thought I was done with the posting this morning. However, I just saw that Ciara’s new music video for “Gimmie Dat” has finally premiered on Vevo today. Personally, I like that this video is all about the dancing and hitting every move hard. The only thing I question is Ciara’s styling a.k.a. the huge “FLY” on her belt in the beginning and the chucks with the stripper heels. Yikes… But hey, I guess it works overall?

Watch the video now!Β  —>Β  Ciara – Gimmie Dat

What do you think? I think that Ciara might be on her way back. πŸ™‚

Music Tuesdays: 3 Girls and a Guy

Good morning!

To be completely honest, I’m not that chipper this morning. I had my first morning run since forever today, and now I’m in PAIN. lol Do you know what pains me more than the burn from a workout? Not having an ipod!

With all of the good music that’s being released nowadays, it saddens me that I can’t listen to it while I jog. Nonetheless, that won’t keep me from bringing you guys the latest tunes.

Let’s get it. πŸ˜‰

Ciara

I don’t know why, but every time Ciara releases a new track and music video, she gets compared to somebody else. Now, I know that everyone sees a little Aaliyah, Janet Jackson in the the girl, but come on. Ciara is her own artist, and should be treated as such. Regardless of who she reminds you of, she definitely brings her own sound and can dance her butt off.

Anyways, “Speechless” is Ciara’s latest single. The video debuted on Vevo last week, and it looks like it might be another winner for the R&B singer. If you haven’t seen it, check it out now.

Personally, I think “Speechless” sounds like a track from the early 90s.Β  I didn’t like it that much at first, but now I listen to it like every day. What do you think? Is Ciara on her way to a comeback? Because we all know that last album with the terrible cover was a flop…

Moving On.

Shontelle

One girl that I am absolutely loving right now is Shontelle. Shontelle is known for such hits as “T-Shirt” and “Impossible.” Not to mention, she is from the same island as Rihanna. However, I think that it’s pretty obvious which Barbadian has more talent.

Here is Shontelle’s latest video for the single “Perfect Nightmare.”

Okay, sometimes Shontelle looks like Rihanna..

.When can Rihanna just move over?! lol

Anyways…

Shakira

Shakira has finally released her video for “Loca.” I already was a fan of “Loca,” and now I am one of the video as well. In it, Shakira looks like her old self. Messy hair and all. Even though “She Wolf” was my song, Shakira’s latest album didn’t do too well (at least in the states). So, cheers to Shakira for coming back swinging.

This video makes me want to rollerblade. Screw running! lol

Jesse McCartney

Originally, I wasn’t going to post Jesse McCartney’s new song “Shake,” and just make today’s post a girl’s post. Then, I decided that I liked his song too much. lol There isn’t a music video just yet, but this video that someone put together with the lyrics to the song is genius. I’m sure we’ll begin hearing Jesse’s song all over the radio pretty soon.

I like this Jesse. πŸ™‚

And, with that, today’s Music Tuesday is over. Sadness I know. lol Look out for next week’s post!
