Not that I thought the girl was stupid….It’s just that her new video shows how intelligent she really is. Rihanna’s “We Found Love” music video is having everyone talking. The boy alongside Rihanna in the video looks and dresses a lot like Chris Brown…Blonde hair, jean jacket, and all. Not to mention, the video is all about a love story spiraling completely out of control.

Wild Wednesdays: Reggie Gives Back and Kanye Runs More

Originally, I intended to report something a little more juicy. With that said, when I opened my Inbox this morning, I was sad to see a post from Hip-Hop Wired about Reggie Bush’s decision to forfeit the Heisman Trophy. Those of you, who have been following Reggie’s career since his college days, know that Reggie was accused of accepting money from California marketing agents while still playing for USC, which is 100% against NCAA rules. Even though Reggie is willingly giving up the trophy after years of being under investigation, everyone knows that he’ll always be considered a Heisman winner.

Side Note: This story saddens me because if Reggie did take outside money while playing for USC, it was probably due to pressures from his family. A lot of athletes/ college students in general do not come from the wealthiest of situations. I’m not trying to justify Reggie’s decision (if he’s “guilty”). All I’m saying is that I understand.

Moving On…

In order to keep this post from being too depressing, it’s probably best that I post something wacky too. Who better to talk about than Kanye West, right? Pop Eater reports that Kanye West will be releasing a 40 minute music video for his song “Runaway.” I posted “Runaway” yesterday as a part of Music Tuesdays, and I haven’t listened to it since then. Honestly, I think it’s ridiculous that Kanye has plans for such a long video, especially after his minute long video for “Power.” I can’t hate on Kanye for trying something different. All I can say is that it better be on the level of Michael Jackson’s video features. Because only MJ was able to make me sit through a music video miniseries back in the day.

Can’t Stop Won’t Stop

Looks like our favorite starlet, Ms. Lindsay Lohan,  has a new single out! “Can’t Stop Won’t Stop” is your typical slowish Pop song. However, it’s not as catchy as Lindsay’s “Rumors,” which came out in 2004 before the actress/singer ran into drug and legal troubles. Even though I am undecided about the song, I am glad to learn that Lindsay is scheduled to complete her alcohol education classes on time. At least she’s accomplishing a string of productivity nowadays. Maybe her new music should reflect more on that fact instead of just on generic boy problems??? Only a suggestion….Anyways, I do think that the words “Can’t Stop Won’t Stop” could be seen as Lindsay’s subtle way of letting the world know that she is back and not stopping anytime soon.

Lindsay Lohan Alcohol Classes

**With Lindsay coming back on the scene, I can’t help, but to draw some comparisons to the other redhead in Tinseltown, Ms. Cyrus. Both Lindsay and Miley began as child actors before picking up music careers as well. Now, that Miley is beginning to become more “mature,” one has to wonder if she, too, will soon be on the downward Hollywood spiral. Let’s hope not…..

p.s. A friend suggested that I write a post comparing Lindsay and Miley, and I think I’m going to do it. It just sounds like too much fun and hilarity to pass up, so consider the post written. lol

In the meantime, let’s remember the good ol’ days shall we. Here’s the video for Lindsay’s “Rumors.” Enjoy! 🙂

I’m liking this oldie a lot better than the new single. Also, the cage in this video reminds me of another girl’s recent video. Hmmmm…..Miley, maybe?

Side Note: After reporting about Bret Michaels’ latest battles in the ICU, I realize that I never updated everyone about the rocker’s current health status. Apparently, our prayers worked and Bret seems to be doing rather well. He’s even talking about touring by the end of May.

As much as I am happy for Bret, I think that he needs to take a breather. After all, the man did almost die! He doesn’t need to tour. Just sayin’……BUT, if this post’s theme is about not stopping, then I guess Bret is right in his decision.

It Keeps Getting Better?

Yesterday, VEVO premiered Christina Aguilera’s new music video for “Not Myself Tonight,” and it’s already causing some hate amongst Lady Gaga fans. When Christina released the music video for “It Keeps Getting Better” a couple of years ago,  people accused her of copying Lady Gaga’s style. Granted Christina was wearing long bleached blond hair with bangs cut straight across the forehead, which is considered to be Gaga’s signature “look.” However, I would argue that Ms. Aguilera has always rocked the bleached blond hair with various different hairstyles. Perhaps it was just the timing of her chosen look that was the issue?

Anyways, people are already saying that Christina is copying Gaga once again in “Not Myself Tonight.” As a huge Aguilera fan, I must admit that “Not Myself Tonight” does have some resemblances to Gaga’s videos, especially with all of the crazy/frightening outfits. With that said, as much as people want to believe that Gaga is an “original,” everyone must remember that every artist, including Gaga, Beyonce, and Britney Spears has gained inspiration from and/or copied someone else before them. Let’s keep it real… Plus, Christina has always been a risk taker with her dramatic makeup, fashion choices, and music video concepts. Remember her video for “Fighter”?

Whether she’s copying or not, Christina looks great and the voice is just as strong! BUT, will things keep getting better for Christina with this type of sound and video??? Only time will tell. 😉

Sidenote: Can artists stop advertising perfumes and alcohol in their videos??? Just saying…..It’s a little tacky in my opinion.
