Music Tuesdays: Girls Rule Boys Drool

First off, I just want to apologize for being MIA since last Thursday. Times are rough now that I’m no longer funemployed. Not to mention, it was Stanford’s homecoming weekend this past weekend, and you know what that means. Fun FUn FUN! Anyways, I am back now. Let’s get it.

If you’ve been following my blog, then you already know that I have a thing for the UK’s hit show X Factor. For the past few weeks, I’ve been sharing some of my favorite singers and performers right here on I People Watch.

Cheryl Cole

With that said, this week’s X Factor exposed me not only to the talents of its contestants, but also to the talents of Cheryl Cole. Cheryl is a former member of the British Pop group Girls Aloud, and a current judge on X Factor. Now, I have been onto Cheryl’s solo career since the very beginning. However, I was totally unaware that she had completed a sophomore album until I caught up on X Factor yesterday evening. On the live results show, Cheryl performed her first single “Promise This.” πŸ™‚

Take a listen and watch her live performance now!

“Alouette ette ette! Alouette ette ette!”Β  After I heard that breakdown, I was hooked! lol

Want more of “Promise This?” Here’s the music video!Β  –

Cheryl’s album, Messy Little Rain Drops, is scheduled to hit stores November 1st. πŸ™‚

Next…

Rihanna

As far as America goes, there are a few songs by our own artists that I am loving right now too. One of them unfortunately is Rihanna’s “What’s My Name.” The song features Drake, and is pretty hot. If you haven’t been paying attention to your radio, I encourage you to do so.

For those of you that are a little late, here’s the song below.

Good, huh? I’m not even going to say anything about Rihanna for this one. Surprising, I know… lol πŸ˜‰

Ke$ha

Like Rihanna, Ke$ha is also dropping new music. Her new single “We R Who We R” was just released, and I predict that it will be a hit just like everything else that is Ke$ha. Ke$ha is right up my alley, so I’m always going to love her music. πŸ™‚

Listen now!

“We R Who We R” will appear on Cannibal, an extended play to her debut album Animal.

Kanye West

**Even though this is technically a girl’s day, I must acknowledge the craziness that is Kanye West. While I was having fun this weekend, Kanye decided to release his mini movie for the song “Runaway.” If you’re curious enough to watch the 30 min long film, then click here. –> Runaway

No matter how crazy I think West is, I give him props for always being an original. Nonetheless, dude can keep his real vocals to himself. He needs auto-tune. Just sayin… πŸ˜‰
