You’re A Mean Girl Cady! You’re A Bitch!

(From left: Lacey Chabert, Rachel McAdams, Lindsay Lohan, and Amanda Seyfried)

We probably all can agree that Tina Fey’s Mean Girls was single-handedly the most quotable movie of 2004. Centered around the life of Cady Heron (Lindsay Lohan), a naive and formerly homeschooled redhead, as she navigates her away through high school and its dominating group of plastics played by Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfried, and Lacey Chabert, Mean Girls taps into the emotions of anyone, who has had, will have, or wants to have the stereotypical high school experience. Although the world of Mean Girls is not necessarily anything new, the movie became a cultural phenomenon and succeeded in boosting the careers of Lohan, McAdams, and Seyfried. Unfortunately, Hollywood was not as kind to Chabert, whose character Gretchen played a major role in the film’s overall hilarity. However, this post is not about Lacey, but Lindsay, the biggest fallen star of them all.

Randomly today, I thought about the movies that I found to be most entertaining. Mean Girls made the cut, and hence thoughts about Lohan and her seemingly almost non-existent career became blog post material. After Mean Girls, Lindsay Lohan appeared to be on top of the world. She was in every magazine, receiving steady work. Then suddenly, news of coke habits, smoking, severe weight loss, and outrageous parents destroyed both Lohan and her career.  Now, Rachel McAdams and Amanda Seyfried have become two of Hollywood’s goto actresses. Since Mean Girls, McAdams has starred in such movies as The Notebook (an undeniable new classic), Red Eye, The Time Traveler’s Wife, and Sherlock Holmes while Seyfried continues her leading lady status in films like Mama Mia! and Dear John. As for Lohan, the last time anyone saw her was in the ABC original movie Labor Pains. Nothing against ABC’s Labor Pains (the movie is actually quite enjoyable), but Lohan should probably be doing bigger projects right now. If she’s not careful, her Mean Girls supporting cast may take her Hollywood shine forever. Just look at them at the 201o Oscars. I wonder where Ms. Lohan was. Just saying…

On a more positive note…. Apparently, Lohan will be starring in this year’s Machete with the likes of Dany Trejo, Jessica Alba, Robert De Niro, and Michelle Rodriguez. According to wikipedia (I know. I know. lol), the film is an expansion of a fake trailer by director Robert Rodriguez for the 2007 film Grindhouse. Below is the fake trailer that the movie will be based off of, and then the poster for the actual feature film. Looks interesting to say the very least….

I want to pass judgment, and say that this movie is going to be ALL bad, but I’m sure Lohan knows something I don’t…..
