Wild Wednesdays: Get It Girl!

I am well aware that today is Wednesday, and not Tuesday. However, I want this post to concentrate on the awesome music videos that girls have been releasing lately.

Kelly Rowland

“Lay It On Me”

After just a week, Kelly has over 7 million views on YouTube. I think everyone can agree that she is having the year of her solo career life. With two hit singles under her belt, Ms. Kelly is definitely becoming an R&B queen in her own right.

Britney Spears

“Criminal”

This is probably the best Britney has looked in years. From her hair to her clothes to her makeup, this is the Brit Brit that we all know and love. Not to mention, she’s finally looking her age. Young! :-)

Beyonce

“Love On Top”

Considering all those fake pregnancy rumors, I wonder when Beyonce filmed this video….I’m not really a fan of this song, but the music video takes me back to the days of New Edition.

p.s. I know not everything is a competition, but for kicks, let’s see if B’s video can top Kelly’s 7 million views in one week.

Wild Wednesdays: BeyonceJayFetus

Read this article…Beyonce’s Baby.

Enough said.

Can I be a little B-Z please????  Y’all saw that post from yesterday….*Deep sigh.* lol

Wild Wednesdays: I’m Into You

I think it’s wild that I’m posting this while at work. Can we say problem? lol With that said, I heard this on the radio the other day. This is my song for the summer!

Get it J. Lo! I need to go to a club. ;-)

Wild Wednesdays: Celebrities Bore Me

I have always loved entertainment news. In high school, I made sure that my after school nap was over by 7:30 so that I could watch Access Hollywood. There was just something about celebrities that remained entertaining despite the fact that they all fell into the same traps of drug abuse, jail time, and divorce. However, now that I write I People Watch, caring about the lives of celebrities is not as appealing. I mean, how many times can I report on Lindsay Lohan and T.I. being arrested and enjoy it? I guess what I’m getting at is….It’s wild that I’m bored with my own blog on Wednesdays…lol

I think it’s time to change up Wild Wednesdays. Maybe I’ll bring back the “What’s Wilder” format?

If you have any ideas, please let me know. I’m all ears! :-)

p.s. Lindsay Lohan most likely will be going back to jail for “stealing” that gold necklace. Smh.

Wild Wednesdays: Computers Are Getting Smarter

Lately, everyone’s been talking about IBM’s new super computer, Watson. Last night, Watson appeared on Jeopardy, competing against the gameshow’s most famous contestants, Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter. Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter are Jeopardy’s all-time record consecutive winner and money-earner respectively. Now, I didn’t get the chance to watch Watson on Jeopardy, but apparently he “pummeled” both Ken and Brad to bits.

Although Watson won last night’s game, there is apparently more to Watson than what audiences are seeing on T.V. Media outlets are reporting that Watson crashed several times throughout the game, causing the taping of the show to go for four very long hours. Watson is also much larger than the sleek black box seen giving the answers, taking up ample amounts of space behind the scenes. Regardless of the computer’s actual size and glitches, however, I think it’s safe to say that IBM’s toy is pretty impressive.

Usually, Wild Wednesdays are all about living human beings. But, I think it’s pretty amazing that people were able to build such a knowledgeable computer. Technology has come a very long way, and it’s crazy to think about the future Watsons of the world. One day, Watson will probably be the size of our laptops, and that’s wild!

Below are a few articles I found on Watson.

Watson crashed often during Jeopardy

Watson Rallies, Then Slips

I’m definitely going to try and watch the match tonight!

p.s. If you like this post, don’t forget to share it with friends! :-)

Wild Wednesdays: Lindsay Lohan…No Words

As much as I have reported on Ms. Lohan over the past year and a half, you would think that I would’ve lost all faith in the girl by now. Oddly enough, I never have.

Lindsay Lohan

It’s no secret that Lindsay has had more than her fair share of problems over the years. However, instead of getting better, her life only seems to be getting worse. Recently, Lindsay was caught wearing an expensive necklace that she never payed for, claiming that she thought the piece of jewelry was a loan. Unfortunately, people are not seeing eye-to-eye with Ms. Lohan (for good reason), and the starlet will be charged with grand theft. Wonderful…

I just think it’s wild that this girl is still getting into trouble! Maybe it’s the only way she knows how to stay relevant? Sad. I guess she’ll be on Monday’s countdown. Again…

Wild Wednesdays: Christopher Nolan Snub (Kind of…)

Leonardo DiCaprio and Christopher Nolan on the set of "Inception"

Before anyone gets on my case, I am well aware that the Oscar nominations were announced yesterday. However, the nominations were irrelevant to yesterday’s Music Tuesday post.

Anyways, I think it’s wild that Christopher Nolan was left out of the Best Director category. Even though the nominees are all worthy of their spots, I just think it’s odd that a movie as brilliantly and uniquely done as Inception did not secure a place for Nolan. It’s not every day that a summer film gets enough buzz to last through awards season. I guess I should at least be thankful that Nolan got a nom for Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay. This past year has been a great year for movies, but if Nolan doesn’t at least win for his screenplay, then I will be quite annoyed. lol I mean, who thinks of an idea like “Inception” and actually executes it well? Just sayin….

With that said, congratulations to all of the Oscar nominees. It should be an exciting show, and even though we all know that Hollywood is very political, I hope that the winners chosen actually reflect the performances. :-)

Side Note: I wasn’t able to see all of the Best Picture nominees, but I did see the majority. And, I think “True Grit” is my favorite for that category. I just loved that movie so much. It was a good time. Too bad I don’t actually think that it will win…lol “The Social Network” will probably walk away with the prize. We shall see! ;-)

The 83rd Annual Academy Awards will be held on Sunday, February 27th.

Wild Wednesdays: A Laughable Hollywood

Early yesterday morning, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) announced the list of nominees for the 68th Golden Globe Awards. Needless to say, Hollywood is still talking about the nominees as well as the snubs. Apparently, the new Coen Brothers’ pic “True Grit” was completely snubbed by the HFPA. Ouch.

I had the opportunity to attend the premiere of “True Grit” here in LA last Thursday, and I can honestly say that the movie is amazing. Both the audience and I laughed from beginning to end. The story and characters are moving, adventurous, and just plain hilarious. I won’t talk much more about the film because I want everyone to go see it.

“True Grit” comes out December 22nd, and is without a doubt worth the 12 bucks. The film stars Jeff Bridges, Matt Damon, Josh Brolin, and newcomer Hailee Steinfeld.  I don’t know what the HFPA was thinking when it snubbed this film. It should definitely be recognized. Anyways, there is always still the Oscars, which “True Grit” is already getting Best Picture buzz for.

Watch the trailer for “True Grit” below.

The trailer makes this movie look so serious, BUT I’m telling you, it’s pure hilarity. Okay, I’m done. Moving on….lol ;-)

As for other snubs, the list could go on forever. Some people are even talking about Justin Timberlake not getting a nod. Personally, I don’t think Justin Timberlake deserves any awards attention for his role as Sean Parker in “The Social Network.” Although I think that he did a really good job with the character, it’s not Golden Globe or Oscar worthy in my opinion. I’ve seen that same kind of performance from no-names on Lifetime. Just sayin…

Anyways, here’s an article I read in the LA Times. It talks about the amount of media attention that is placed on the Golden Globes. I think its authors make some pretty valid points.

p.s. If you are a Glee fan, the show did not get snubbed! :-)

Wild Wednesdays: Just A Thought

Brad Pitt and Johnny Depp

So, what I am about to write can hardly be considered “wild” news. However, while reading reports about the premiere of Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp’s new pic The Tourist, I couldn’t help, but to think about how Brad Pitt (Angie’s hubby) and Johnny Depp have never made a film together. I mean, can you imagine a movie with these two??? I can. I think it would be a lot of fun! With that said, I have no idea what type of script would actually bring the two together. Hmmm….

Technically, Pitt and Depp did cross paths on the set of 21 Jump Street, the TV show that sparked Depp’s career. After some searching, I found the clip. Take a look! —>21 Jump Street

Although watching that video is fun, I have to say that I still want to see a Pitt/Depp mashup on the silver screen. Who knows? Maybe one day it will happen. :-)

Oprah

On another note, I think it’s wild that people are still talking about Oprah’s “lesbian” affairs with best friend Gayle King. For the record, I do not believe that Oprah and Gayle are lesbians. To me, this story is old news, and I’m tired of the press reporting on it. How about we refocus our attentions to the fact that male pedophiles seem to be plaguing the music industry instead.  **Cough Cough** Chris Stokes. Yikes…

Why is it that celebrities get a free pass when it comes to following the law? Let me become famous one day, and see just how far I can push the bar. I would run amuck! lol  Just sayin’. ;-)

Wild Wednesdays: Celebreality vs. Reality

Sometimes I don’t know whether or not posting the latest “wild” celebrity news is all that interesting. I mean, the most that celebrities ever do is get caught with drugs, beat up their spouses, or get pregnant. Just sayin… I’m thinking it might be more fun to compare what’s been wilder lately – celebreality or reality. So, let’s begin the comparisons.

1)  What’s wilder?

Jay-Z still being affiliated with the Illuminati..

OR

A woman robbing Walmart while in labor?

Smh…

2) What’s wilder?

Bret Michaels’ alleged affair with Miley Cyrus’ mother, Tish…

Bret Michaels and Tish Cyrus

OR

Young protesters turning violent in London over cuts to education spending?

Education Protest In London Turns Violent

3) What’s wilder?

Amber Portwood for becoming famous for her “tough girl” ways on MTV’s hit show “Teen Mom”…

OR

Amber potentially losing her baby in real life due to her on camera domestic violence moment?

Side note:  MTV was given a subpoena to hand over all unedited tapes of the violent incident.

**Honestly, these comparisons could go on forever. With that said, it’s not too hard to see that when you mash up the wild moments in both celebreality and reality, there is always a clear winner.**
